Media Minute

6 episodes

A six-part set of short animated videos from MediaSmarts, Canada's media-literacy non-profit, made to hand kids the five key concepts of media literacy. Each ~1.5-minute episode takes one big idea -- media are built from parts, every medium has its own form, media are made for money, media shape what we think, and audiences make their own meaning -- illustrates it with a simple analogy, and ends with a "be media smart" challenge for the viewer to try. A tidy, kid-facing on-ramp to any media-literacy or digital-citizenship unit.
