Discussion

Polar bears are built for the Arctic — every feature helps them survive where temperatures drop far below freezing.

  1. Name two body features of a polar bear that help it stay warm. How does each one work?
  2. Why do polar bears need sea ice? What would happen if the ice melted?
  3. How is the polar bear's habitat different from where you live? What would an animal need to survive in your habitat?
