Me, myself, and I—welcome to the world of personal pronouns! This part of speech takes the place of a person in a sentence. You might say, "Moby is my best friend. He is the best!" "He" refers to "Moby," otherwise known as the antecedent. Personal pronouns have the same gender, number, and case as their antecedents. In this case, both "Moby" and "he" are male, singular, and subjects. "They" and "them" are examples of personal pronouns that are gender-neutral, and can be plural or singular.
