Summary
Perimeter is the total distance around the outside of a closed, flat shape—like the fence around a yard. To find the perimeter of a polygon, add up the lengths of all the sides. There's a shortcut if it's a regular polygon, where all the sides are the same length. Then, you can multiply the length of one side by the number of sides.
