Summary

A rival agency called Weird Team opens up across the street, hands out free gadgets, and quickly puts Odd Squad out of business — so retired agents Olive and Otto come back to team up with the new squad. Together they use number sense, patterns, and careful reasoning to expose Weird Team's scheme and stop a town-sized wave of oddness. A feature-length mystery that folds a whole case's worth of math into one big adventure.

Discussion questions

Discussion

A feature-length case is really one giant problem broken into a lot of small ones.

  1. How did Weird Team put Odd Squad out of business? What was odd about their "free" gadgets?
  2. Why did Olive and Otto have to come out of retirement — what could the new agents not do on their own?
  3. What clues and numbers helped the squad figure out Weird Team's real plan?
  4. When a problem feels way too big, what's one way to break it into smaller steps?
  5. Was the ending what you predicted? What surprised you?

Quick work-a-long

Vocabulary: agency, rival, scheme, clue, evidence, solve.

Try it: Pick one problem the squad solved in the movie and write the steps they took in order, from first clue to final answer. Then think of a big job in your own week and break it into three smaller steps.
