Hold on to your hat! Black holes have the strongest gravity of anything in the universe. If your hat were to fall into one, it would be gone forever. Nothing, not even light, can escape. That's why black holes are impossible to see. But scientists have captured images of them. We also know black holes exist because they swallow entire planets and stars.
