In WordWorld everything is built out of the letters that spell it, so a DUCK is shaped from D-U-C-K and a word has to be assembled before it can help anybody. The catalog runs two ways. There are one-to-three-minute clips where the WordFriends sound out and build a single word such as TENT, SHARK, or the letter J, and there are full 27-minute episodes pairing two stories, like Duck crashing through Spider's web and hunting down every scattered letter to rebuild it. Phonemic awareness and letter-sound work with a plot attached, aimed squarely at PreK through first grade.
