Standalone vocabulary segments pulled from the PBS KIDS superhero comedy, most of them one to four minutes. Each takes one word (confront, evasive, tranquil, repulsive, unruly, compatible, combination, triumph, pestering, eureka) and gives it a scene instead of a definition. Two widen out a little: cavity turns on a word carrying more than one meaning, and the simile segment is a genuine four-minute introduction to figurative language. Order does not matter and no knowledge of the show is required, so these work as a warm-up before a read-aloud, before writing, or whenever second through sixth graders need a sharper word.
