The Fixies

42 episodes

Tiny helpers called Fixies live inside household machines and keep them running, which is the excuse for a six-minute cartoon explaining how the machine works. A battery stores energy and pushes it around a circuit; a compass holds a magnet that lines up north; a combination lock stays shut until the numbers land; a text message crosses the country in seconds; a bent drainpipe blocks the smell. Some go further afield: friction, horsepower, static electricity on a balloon, a rover on Mars, where the trash actually goes. A few are just story episodes with no science in them.
