Sid brings the question to school, and Teacher Susie's class investigates it, sorting rocks by color and texture, testing which surfaces soak up water, watching how heat turns batter into a pancake you can't uncook. The set here leans toward earth science, weather, materials, and health habits like handwashing and sunblock. Good for a K-2 opener when you want kids asking before they answer.
