Salsa is Georgia Public Broadcasting's Emmy-winning Spanish-language series for kindergarten through third grade. Using puppets, animation, and a warm recurring cast, each 15-minute segment retells a familiar folk tale -- Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Little Red Hen -- entirely in Spanish, so children who already know the story can follow the pictures and pick up the language along the way. The show mixes gentle comedy, songs, and everyday vocabulary (colors, numbers, food, manners) with recurring characters like Niña, the bumbling Wolf, the color-shy Monster, and Salsa the parrot. Unit 1 runs thirty segments, free to stream on GPB's education site with a support-materials packet for each episode. A natural fit for dual-language, beginning-Spanish, and folk-tale units.
