Produced by GBH Boston with Alaska Native writers, advisors, and voice actors, this was the first nationally distributed kids series with an Alaska Native lead. Molly Mabray lives in the fictional Gwich in village of Qyah and solves problems with informational text: guidebooks, maps, a wildlife camera, an email to a cabbage expert, tracks read out of the mud like a page. Stories run in pairs and carry real culture, from earning a Native name from an elder to a Seal Dance on Atka, a herring egg harvest in Sitka, and the Alaska Native boy who designed the state flag. Two hour-long movies included.
