Kids Explain Art to Experts
3 episodes
Kids Explain Art to Experts is a short, playful gallery game from Google Arts & Culture. In each episode a young child stands before a famous painting and describes it out loud: the colors, the people, what seems to be happening. Two art experts then try to guess the work from those words alone. There is no lecture and no jargon: the fun is a five- or nine-year-old noticing exactly what a masterpiece shows. For a K–5 art class it is a lively model of looking closely and putting a picture into words, turning American Gothic, Vermeer, and Frida Kahlo into a guessing game anyone can play.
