Everyday Writing with Coach Write

11 episodes

Coach Write is a whistle-wearing writing coach who runs each short lesson like a basketball practice: warm up, learn one move, then run it yourself. Filmed in a gym for PBS Western Reserve, the series breaks everyday writing into single, doable skills: choosing precise words, varying sentence length, linking ideas with transitions, building a paragraph, and avoiding plagiarism. It also covers the writing kinds a young author needs, from opinions and lists to informing and telling a story. On-screen examples get rewritten in real time so students see a plain sentence become a stronger one. Practical, upbeat, and built for grades K–6.
