Dance Toolkit
6 episodes
Dance Toolkit is a set of short studio demonstrations from the Art Education Network that hand an upper-elementary class the working vocabulary of choreography. Dancers perform each idea on camera with the term named on screen, so a teacher can press play and point: a canon rippling through the group, a phrase run in retrograde, sections building into rondo form, and full jazz and hip-hop routines that show the concepts at work. A labeled aerobic warm-up rounds out the set. Nothing here asks a child to already dance — the screen shows the move, names it, and repeats it, so the class can watch, talk about what they see, and try it themselves.
