Big Bang Academy

10 episodes

Big Bang Academy is a bright, fast-paced science channel where a young host and a curious chipmunk mascot named Bobo tour the human body and the world around it. These episodes, mostly three to five minutes, open up one system at a time — how food is digested, how the lungs breathe, how the heart pumps, how the eyes and tongue sense the world and send signals inward — using bold animated diagrams and a friendly on-screen guide. Each short explainer builds real science vocabulary and gives upper-elementary and middle-grade students a clear, memorable picture of how living things work inside.

  • MS-LS1-8Gather and synthesize information that sensory receptors respond to stimuli by sending messages to the brain for immediate behavior or storage as memories.
  • 5-PS3-1Use models to describe that energy in animals' food was once energy from the sun.
  • MS-LS1-7Develop a model to describe how food is rearranged through chemical reactions forming new molecules that support growth and/or release energy as this matter moves through an organism.
