Mati and her sidekick Dada travel back in time to meet one artist per episode. There are 39 of them here, from Giotto around 1300 to Dorothea Lange in the 1930s, plus the occasional building, like Japan's Horyu-ji Temple. Each eight-minute stop looks at what made that artist's work different: Seurat's tiny dots, Arcimboldo's faces built from vegetables, Brancusi's polished shapes, Turner's stormy skies. The pair name the place and the century too, so the episodes stack into a rough timeline. Short enough to open a studio period, specific enough to leave students one technique to try.
